Elim Christian School is currently looking to hire 2 OT's for our 2015/2016 school year.
The first position is a full time position in our Autism school program and
the second position is a part time, 3-4 days a week, in our Cross Categorical school program.

Occupational Therapist (OTR)
Autism Program

The Autism Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing, developing goals, and implementing appropriate interventions for students in the Autism Program. He or she will work with students in both one-on-one and group settings to incorporate sensory integration, gross motor, and fine motor activities into each student’s daily routine

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy and IL State Licensure

Requirements:
*Experience or interest in working with students who have autism
*Pediatric and sensory integration knowledge.
*Ability to work with students individually or in groups.
*Ability to effectively organize time and maintain flexibility.
*Behavior management skills.
*Willing to complete training assigned to include: First Aid, CPR, and Safety Care
*Learn to operate equipment and devices that students may require.
*Ability to work in a team setting and interact effectively and sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Hours: 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m., (Mon – Fri). Regular school year plus 6 week summer session required

Wages: Based on education and experience

Occupational Therapist (OTR)
Special Education School

Individual is responsible for evaluation of children with special needs for ages 3-21 within a school setting, writing IEP/goals, supervision COTA’s and providing appropriate intervention services designed to enhance the student’s potential for learning.

Education: Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy (OTR) and IL State Licensure

Requirements:
*Experience in special education setting or experience working with individuals with disabilities.
*Knowledge of mental, physical, social challenges
*Ability to work with students individually or in groups
*Ability to effectively organize time
*Behavior management skills
*Ability to work with peers

Hours: 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m., 3-4 days per week according to school calendar which includes 6 week summer session.

Wages: Scale based on experience
