Coordinator of the Doctor of Nursing Practice; Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP-FNP) Program

The GRADUATE PROGRAM IN NURSING at Messiah College invites applications for a Coordinator of the Doctor of Nursing Practice; Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP-FNP) Program. This is a term- tenure-track position within a growing program which is taught primarily in an online format.

Responsibilities: The Coordinator of the Doctor of Nursing Practice - Family Nurse Practitioner Program (DNP-FNP) is responsible for providing program leadership in implementing the new DNP-FNP program. Primary duties include program course development, acquisition of qualified preceptors and clinical placement sites, and preparation for successful program accreditation. The coordinator also will participate in teaching in the program, pursue academic excellence within the program, promote the program and enhance its visibility, assist with the achievement of recruitment and retention goals, and manage the day to day logistics of the program.

Qualifications: Doctoral degree (Ph.D., DNP or D.Ed.); at least 3 years’ experience as a nurse practitioner; teaching experience in higher education and online learning environments preferred; Must be a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)- Family Practice; Must hold an unencumbered license.

The Graduate Program in Nursing has designed the DNP-FNP to meet accreditation standards established by CCNE. The focus of the DNP-FNP is to offer a Christ-centered program with a mission to prepare advanced practice nurses who use the highest levels of nursing science and clinical thinking and reasoning for leadership and service in the planning and implementing of advanced practice nursing care.

Starting Date for Position: As early as January 2015
