Job Status: Full-Time Temporary

Salary: $70,900 - $81,535

Work Location: Central Campus

Position Objective: Under the direction of the Dean for Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CE/WFD)-promotes and coordinates all aspects of the Continuing Education/Workforce Development training initiatives. Assumes departmental responsibility in the Dean's absence.

Minimum Education:Master of Science in Nursing required or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Minimum Experience/Training: Eight years of experience in specialty nursing (i.e. Critical Care, Emergency Department or Cardiac Nursing) field, including five years in management and three years teaching healthcare professionals in classroom and/or clinical setting.

Two years' experience using high-fidelity human simulators.

Minimum Certification/Licenses: Active Florida RN License; Certification in a field of Specialty Nursing (i.e. Adult Critical Care, CCRN etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and ability to coordinate and direct the Continuing Education/Workforce Development training programs in accordance with College policies, procedures and contractual agreements. This includes all matters relating to personnel, students, scheduling, curriculum implementation, instruction, and all financial considerations relating to the training programs; effective communication skills; understands all aspects of departmental budget management.

Models inclusive excellence through specific actions that support the College's diversity goals in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of talented and diverse faculty and staff.

In-depth knowledge and expertise in all aspects of own and related areas of the College, and pertinent interdependencies.

General understanding of the external environment and how it affects academia in general and Broward in particular, including political, legal, environmental, educational, financial and social influences

Strong knowledge of College structure, policies and practices, and the impact on own area

Proven expertise in planning and executing operational plans, managing projects and/or programs, budgeting and cost control

Strong managerial and team building skills, and demonstrated ability to motivate and empower direct and indirect reports to achieve area priorities

Ability to diagnose, plan and manage resource requirements for own area, including staffing, budgets, equipment, etc.

Ability to partner with others across the College and externally to exchange information, collaborate on projects, share resources, etc.

Ability to influence others of the benefits/importance of an idea or plan of action and to gain their support or commitment

Strong negotiation skills and ability to reach mutual points of agreement and benefit among peers and colleagues
