Family Medicine Physician
Family Health Care is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join its medical team in the beautiful northern Michigan village of Baldwin. Not only will you work alongside other medical providers, but you have the opportunity to collaborate with other departments, including dental, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory, and vision, to care for the whole patient.
About the Community
Baldwin, Michigan, the county seat of Lake County, is located at the junction of M-37 and US-10. It is situated near the Baldwin River, a tributary of the Pere Marquette River. There are also over a dozen lakes within only five miles of the city limits, including Big Star Lake in Lake Township, and Leverentz and Government Lakes in Webber Township. Baldwin is known for its specialty fishing lure and equipment shops, not to mention gift shops and antique stores. The town is the center of activity for the many resorts and cottages in the area. It celebrates its Troutarama Festival each summer and the Blessing of the Bikes each May.

Essential Job Functions:
• Manage total patient care to remove or minimize symptoms, or to minimize progression of chronic and disabling conditions through appropriate diagnosis, treatment and referrals.
• Participate in Quality Improvement Program and in-service training.
• May participate in community education functions and assist community health groups in a medical advisory capacity.
• See any FHC patient, regardless of sex, race, or condition and keep neat and accurate records of patient care.
• Judiciously use x-ray and prescription functions.
• Report any real or perceived errors in judgment immediately to Medical Director.
• May be assigned to supervise mid-level providers.
• Considerable knowledge of medical practices, procedures, drugs and medicines.
• Thorough knowledge of sterile technique and infection control.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to make independent judgments and decisions.
Certificate/License Requirements:
• Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine
• State of Michigan Medical License
• State of Michigan Controlled Substance License
• Federal DEA License
• Board Certified
