Shriners Hospitals for Children - Shreveport is seeking a qualified Manager of Rehab Services and Motion Analysis Lab to join our team. Under the leadership and direction of the Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS), the Manager of Rehabilitation provides guidance, monitoring, oversite, supervision, and facilitation to staff in support of the established decision, strategy, initiatives and direction for providing care while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.

The Manager of Rehabilitation is responsible for projects as assigned by the DPCS, which may include activities in the following areas, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Motion Analysis, Child Life, School, Seating, Research, Cleft Lip and Palate, Clinic, Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, Subacute Unit, Day Program (IOTP), School, or Prosthetics and Orthotics LLC, since DORS have organizational responsibility for these areas.

Position Responsibilities:

Provides targeted coordination, guidance, monitoring, oversite, supervision and facilitation to a multidisciplinary staff comprised of licensed therapists, assistants, and unlicensed auxiliary staff.
Ensures competency and standards of practice, and assists in holding staff accountable for meeting these requirements.
Assists and collaborates with the DPCS, for effective delivery of patient/family centered care. Supports the Director of Rehabilitation in setting department goals that align with the strategic goals of the facility, SHC rehab system of care and organization.
Assists in the development and implementation of department policies, procedures, scope of practice, and non-professional staff job descriptions and workflows.
Provides direct clinical patient care for discipline of origin, serves as a role model, and resource for staff. Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe effective care and to guide staff through practice issues, ethics, scope of practice and legal matters in each area of clinical responsibility.

The qualified candidate will have experience in the following areas:

5 years full-time clinical experience in licensed field required.
3 years of pediatric experience preferred.
Clinical Specialization preferred.
Clinical Certification required.
Minimum Education Required/Preferred:

Master's degree preferred.
Meets the educational requirements for state licensure (PT, OT, SLP).
Professional Association active member required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

Two years of experience in a leadership role required.
Demonstrated competency in compliant documentation, therapy coding/billing and local regulatory requirements required.
Current full COVID-19 vaccination status required

Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization.

Position Responsibilities

Implements a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing a comprehensive, patient and family-centered approach to decision making incorporating the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model and the AMA CPT Codes.
Demonstrates the knowledge and advanced skills to design and implement a comprehensive treatment plan, utilizing evidence base practice, for patients of diverse ages and diagnoses based on their assessment.
Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate, thorough documentation, which follows the state requirements, payer specific requirements, regulatory and professional standards to include correct use of AMA CPT Codes and/or HCPCS codes when applicable.
Demonstrates emerging professional leadership behaviors in practice settings, in the community and within the profession.
Pursues informal leadership opportunities including active participation in departmental and interdisciplinary hospital-based committees

Performs self-reflection of personal practice and professional work activities to direct goals for professional growth and development. Actively seeks clinical education opportunities to expand knowledge base for the advancement of clinical skills and development of evidence-based best practice procedures.
Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, their families, care management and community resources such as schools/outside therapy clinics, and actively participating in multidisciplinary meetings.
