JOB FUNCTIONS: The primary purpose of the RN Nursing Manager position is to provide direct nursing care to the TOLS clients, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by LPNs. The RN Nursing Manager also serves as the direct supervisor for the Tree of Life Residential Manager. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, facility, and as may be required by the Medical Director or Clinical Program Director to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained. The Nursing Supervisor reports directly to the Medical Director and Clinical Program Director.

JOB DUTIES: Specific duties include, but are not limited to managing the day-to-day functions of the nursing staff and Residential Manager in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern TOLS. Ensuring that all nursing staff comply with the written policies and procedures established by TOLS. Developing, organizing, and maintaining the Nursing department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc. Cooperate with other departments (i.e., Therapy, Food, Maintenance) when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the client’s total regimen of care is maintained. Develop and maintain Nursing Care Plans as part of the overall client Individual Treatment Plan. Monitor MAR’s and medication errors and ensure accuracy of all medication administration policies. Monitor and evaluate staff competencies and performance as it relates to excellent personal care and performance of supportive nursing tasks. Perform admission evaluations of programmatic referrals. Maintains documentation as required by regulations and organizational policies.

EDUCATION: RN with a minimum of 2-3 years of management experience in a long-term care setting. Experience with acquired brain injury patients and neurorehabilitation desired but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills, comprehensive understanding of Federal and State Regulations. At least 2-3 years experience preferably in a long-term care setting. Supervisory experience preferred. Must have current unrestricted Virginia Registered Nurse license and CPR certification.
