Why CHOC Children’s Specialists?  Come join an organization that is defining the future of pediatric medicine in clinical care, research and education.  We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner for our Critical Care Division to function within the CHOC Children’s at Mission Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).  With demonstrated nursing expertise in pediatric intensive care, the Nurse Practitioner will function in an advanced practitioner role as a clinical expert in the management of pediatric intensive care patients within a family-centered care environment. 

Under the direction of the attending PICU attending and practicing within developed Standardized Procedures and Process Protocols, the Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose and treat pediatric intensive care patients.  Central to the role, the Nurse Practitioner will assist in developing and implementing plans of care for all patients in the PICU, as well as provide consultation and education to patients and their families. 

The successful candidate will be a CA licensed and certified Nurse Practitioner with at least one year of experience in direct pediatric intensive patient care.  The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills.  At least one year of clinical pediatric Nurse Practitioner experience is required.
