Job Summary:
Provides respiratory therapy services to neonatal through geriatric patients in accordance with a physician’s written and/or verbal orders, and per established procedures/protocols/the clinical standards of the Respiratory Therapy department. Instructs patients as to the procedures, medications, nature of therapy, and equipment involved in treatment. Maintains competency/proficiency with requisite skills and all required/necessary job responsibilities as dictated by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), the Joint Commission, the Ohio Medical Board, and the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Required:
· Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
· Possess and maintain an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
· Possess and maintain an active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the Ohio Medical Board.
· Possess and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
· Reliable transportation to travel to designated MetroHealth locations.
· Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
