PCA (Patient Care Assistant) – The Arbors at St. Barnabas in Valencia, PA.

We are hiring for the 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Walk-In Open Interviews Available Monday – Friday: 9:00a.m. – 4:00p.m., Human Resources Dept. 5827 Meridian Road Gibsonia, PA.

Position Description:

  • Personal Care Assistants provide residents with support in their activities of daily living, while promoting residents to function at the highest level of independence. Specialized training provided. Opportunities for advancement including med tech certification and no-cost CNA courses.

  • Assist residents with daily hygiene activities, transferring and ambulation.

  • Monitoring resident safety & well-being.

  • Serve resident meals and deliver meal trays to resident rooms if needed.

  • Assist Food Service Department with plating of food service to residents, clearing of tables, and cleaning of dishes as well as other food service duties as needed.

  • Perform basic housekeeping, wash, dry, fold and deliver resident laundry.

  • Encourages resident participation in activities, assist residents to/from recreational programs & assist with programs as needed.

  • Assist nurse with taking blood pressure, temperatures and weights.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Attend required in-service education training and staff meetings.

  • CPR certification provided and maintained

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Ability to interact with team members, other staff, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.

  • Drug free work environment. Must pass drug screen and police background check.

  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for at least 8 hours.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to push residents in wheelchairs and push/ pull laundry carts.
