Job Summary: 

  • Supervise clinical medical assistants and nurses. Perform triage assessment for patients who walk-in with symptoms. Perform routine and emergent nursing functions pertinent to ambulatory related triage care. Provide health screening, patient education, and planning of treatments for primary care-related illnesses/diseases and other infectious diseases. Schedule appointments in response to triage activities. Provide care for patients who walk in for nurse visits. May provide direct patient care with a medical provider.

Reports to: 

  • Director of Nursing Services

Supervision Exercised: 

  • Clinical medical assistants and nurses


  • Graduate of an NLN Accredited Nursing Program.

  • Prior experience with face-to-face TRIAGE in an ambulatory care/primary care setting preferred.

  • Prior experience as an ambulatory clinical nurse.

  • Three years of previous experience with at least one year of supervisory and one year of emergency room experience desired.

  • Current Colorado Registered Nurse License required.

  • Current B.L.S. with skills demonstration C.P.R. certification for Healthcare Providers required.

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance coverage as required by law.

Required Travel: 

  • Frequent travel may be required including day-to-day local travel.

  • Ability to use computerized patient scheduling system.

  • Ability to speak Spanish desirable.

  • Essential to have ability to understand information/instruction, be able to exchange verbal information with others and ability to present information/instruction verbally.

  • Essential to have ability to read and understand written materials and to compose information/instruction in a written form.

  • Essential to have ability to memorize.

  • Essential to have ability to reason mathematically, have analytical skills and be able to problem solve.

  • Essential to have ability to memorize.
