Gregg J. Altobella, MS CCC-SLP, has been named Director of RA Accreditation, RA/OPT Division of the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF). Altobella will leverage his 20+ years as a rehabilitation therapist to direct the improvement and the quality of patient care in physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology clinics by way of inspection and accreditation. The RA/OPT accreditation program is a new Medicare approved program for physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology clinics developed by AAAASF. “During his tenure as a leader and president of the National Association of Rehab Providers and Agencies-NARA, Gregg had supported and collaborated with AAAASF as it developed the rehab agency accreditation process. He shares and is in support of the vision, passion and integrity of AAAASF, and he has helped us gain insight into the rehab accreditation agency environment and provided great counsel and expertise as we developed the standards, training of inspectors, and recruitment of inspectors,” said Harlan Pollock, MD, President of AAAASF. “I am excited to build upon the positive momentum of the rehab accreditation process as a valued and important process that supports the needs of both patients and providers of outpatient rehabilitation therapy services. My appointment with AAAASF complements my passion to lead change within the healthcare industry by guiding organizations thorough the care continuum in organizational and strategic development, operational efficiency, and innovative partner development,” said Altobella. Altobella holds an undergraduate degree in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology and a Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Eastern Illinois University. He previously served as Chief Operations Officer for the rehabilitation therapy division as well as Sr. Vice President of Orthopedics for Cardinal Health System, an Indiana based organization. He has also served on the advisory boards of six healthcare agencies, including his past presidency of the National Association of Rehabilitation Providers and Agencies (NARA). |
