Imaging Diagnostic Systems, Inc, announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded Robert Wake a Patent for the: "Time-Resolved Breast Imaging Device" which was assigned to Imaging Diagnostic Systems as U.S. Patent No. 6,339,216.

This patent protects the key electronics of a time-resolved optical CT scanner. It addresses the solution to the problem of simultaneously accommodating a large dynamic range of light intensities emitted from the breast while achieving the necessary temporal resolution.

"The Company now has a total of eleven U.S. Letters Patents and 23 foreign patents with over a dozen patent applications in the pipeline. Intellectual property (IP) is replacing bricks and mortar as the measure of value of a company in the information age, and Imaging Diagnostic Systems is building a substantial portfolio of IP," commented Robert Wake, VP of Engineering of Imaging Diagnostic Systems.

Imaging Diagnostic Systems has received CE Marking, UL listing, ISO 9002 certification and FDA export certification permitting the Company to market its product internationally. The Company is seeking PreMarket Approval (PMA) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its CTLM(R) system to be used as an adjunct to mammography to aid in the detection of breast abnormalities. Under the new Modular submission approach, the Company's PMA application has been divided into different modules, each of which will contain documentation required for the FDA review. The company has now submitted a total of four modules and is currently completing the PMA application as the final submission of the FDA approval process.

Imaging Diagnostic Systems, Inc., has developed the world's first patented laser-based breast imaging system that utilizes state-of-the-art laser technology and proprietary and patented algorithms to create three-dimensional cross sectional images of the breast. The 3-D imaging technique used is unique to the CTLM(R) system, which is vital to detecting breast abnormalities by providing the radiologist with additional information that may assist with a more precise diagnosis. The CTLM(R) is a non-invasive, painless examination that does not expose the patient to radiation or require breast compression.
