Welcome to the NEWS-Line Blog: An online community for healthcare professionals.

As Editor-in-Chief of NEWS-Line Publishing’s many trade journals, I have been longing for a way to disseminate information to the healthcare community quickly and efficiently and to create a unified system in which healthcare providers can share information with their colleagues within their profession and specialties, as well as across other disciplines.

I have searched for such a site and found that it doesn’t exist.  There are plenty of very good, smaller groups and sites defined by region or specialty on Facebook, YahooGroups, Linkedin and other places, but no centralized location for all of them, so I decided to create my own.

And thus the birth of the NEWS-Line Blog.  Think of it as a hybrid of NEWS-Line’s static site, news-line.com and The Huffington Post – an informal yet professional gathering of healthcare colleagues with the central purpose of sharing news, information and ideas and to consolidate the many alumni, specialty and regional networks out there.

With that said, it is a daunting task to get it up and running (I’m not a techie), not to mention to populate the site with useful information.  That’s where you come in.  I need your help.  If you have news, information or questions to share with your colleagues email it to me to post.

There are a few rules:

• Keep it professional and keep it clean;
• No spamming, soliciting, advertising, recruiting or shameless self-promotion.  If you want to do any of that, contact me and we can discuss it.
• The opinions of contributors are solely of the poster and do not necessarily reflect my opinion or the opinion of NEWS-Line Communications, yadda yadda yadda.
